Special:Notifications only loads for a second now, this time without any errors though. The console spits this out:

How are you installing these plugins? The current version of Echo for MW 1.33 is 952d89e, meanwhile on here it's a57ac75, which is the latest one for MW 1.31.

Similar thing is with MobileFrontend—the MW 1.34 version (6a8ef84) was added instead of MW 1.33 (312e8ed) --Milan Rađenović (talk) 13:23, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Edit: Seems like you're using mediawiki.org download links instead of git. If you know your way around git I'd highly recommend installing/updating extensions that way. --Milan Rađenović (talk) 13:24, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

@Milan Rađenović: Well, they fixed one error, but now there's another error. I tried updating to 1.34 but it brought the website down. I couldn't even use the backup as that would get stuck on 95% restored. Finally managed to get it back up by manually restoring it through a backup using SSH. So we'll be on 1.33 for a while yet. Apologies if anyone lost any edits during the reverting of the server to its earlier state. Tvchannellists (talk) 16:28, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

I think part of the reason why the update fails is because the backup process times out given how many images and other files there are on the site. There's more than 100,000 files on the site with all the different sized versions of the images that have been uploaded. The SQL database for the site is also 1GB+ since Mediawiki keeps all previous revisions of pages. Tvchannellists (talk) 16:35, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

@Milan Rađenović: Hi Milan. No problem at all. I've updated those two extensions to the latest version for MediaWiki 1.33. I tried using Git but it doesn't like that the folders for those extensions exist already, so I've just done it manually as I don't want to break the site again fiddling around with Git. MediaWiki:Sidebar

Hello. What are your thoughts on removing LANGUAGES (Google Translate) from the sidebar? For a site like this Google Translate works horribly, prime reason being that it translates channel names literally, making it useless. Milan Rađenović (talk) 10:45, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

@Milan Rađenović: Hi Milan. From memory, it came about because people were wanting to put channel lists in local languages of the various listings. Since we lack the admin resources to oversee the various language versions + the complexities in setting up a multilingual site, the Google Translate widget was implemented as a compromise. I don't really have any visibility as to whether it's utilised, although I suspect not. I'll leave this discussion here for a few days to see if any of other users/admins have any input. @Milan Rađenović: I'm not sure what 'Search' is for. It seems like it's been there from the start. I've taken it off and there doesn't seem to be any difference.
