List of line-up changes on Sky (UK and Ireland) from 1982 to 1999

The content in this channel listing is incomplete. Please help keep TV Channel Lists up-to-date by contributing the latest line-up information.
Satellite Television Ltd. (SATV) was set up in November 1980 by Mr. Brian Haynes. In 1982, SATV launched "Satellite Channel", a pan-European channel. Sky Television bought Satellite Television Ltd. in 1984 and renamed Satellite Channel to Sky Channel (later Sky One).
British Satellite Broadcasting (BSB) was founded on 11 December 1986, but launched its four channels in early 1990. By the end of 1990, Sky Television and BSB merged together to become British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB). BSkyB launched Sky Multichannels (also known as Sky Analogue) and stopped broadcasting in 2001. BSkyB created Sky Digital in 1998, as a replacement to Sky Multichannels. In 2006, Sky Digital became Sky with its launch of Sky+ and Sky+HD services.
